Where to find startup funding and support in the UAE
Hub71, in5, Dubai SME, Khalifa Fund, Sheraa, DIFC and more: the main UAE programmes founders should know, and what investors look for.
The UAE has one of the most active startup support systems in the region. Here are the main programmes, grouped by emirate. Criteria change often, so check each one before applying.
Dubai
- Dubai Founders HQ: a single hub for startups and SMEs, with investor access
- in5: incubation for tech, media, design and science startups
- Dubai SME (Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development): support for Emirati entrepreneurs
- DIFC Innovation Hub: fintech, AI and tech companies near Dubai's financial centre
- Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy: programmes for digital startups
Abu Dhabi
- Hub71: Abu Dhabi's global tech ecosystem, with incentive packages for selected startups
- Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development: financing and support for Emirati-owned SMEs
- ADGM: a financial free zone with fintech programmes
Federal and Sharjah
- Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund: a federal programme under the Ministry of Economy backing innovative companies
- Sheraa: Sharjah's entrepreneurship centre, with accelerator programmes
Angels and venture capital
Beyond government programmes, the UAE has active angel networks, accelerators and VC funds. Many invest only after they see traction: real users, revenue or strong pilot results.
What every programme asks for
A clear target customer, proof of demand and a product people can use. That is why we help founders build a revenue-ready MVP before they pitch, so they show numbers instead of promises.
