How to pitch investors in the UAE: what angels and VCs want to see

UAE investors back traction, not decks. The proof points, numbers and materials founders should prepare before the first meeting.

The UAE has active angel networks, accelerators and VC funds, plus government-linked programmes. Almost all of them ask the same core questions.

What investors look for

  • A clear customer with a painful problem
  • Evidence of demand: sign-ups, pilots, letters of intent or revenue
  • A working product, even a small one
  • A revenue model with numbers: price, margin, MRR or ARR
  • A team that can execute, and a plan for the GCC and beyond

Prepare these materials

  • A 10 to 12 slide deck
  • A short demo video of the product
  • A simple financial model
  • A data room with company documents

Use the ecosystem

Programmes such as Dubai Founders HQ, Hub71, in5 and the DIFC Innovation Hub help founders meet investors. Arrive with traction and every introduction goes further.

Show, don't tell

A live MVP with real users changes the conversation from “would people use this?” to “how fast can this grow?”
